राज्यसभा सांसद एवं प्रदेश महामंत्री बनाए जाने के बाद पहली बार सोलन पहुंचे सिकंदर कुमार का भारतीय जनता पार्टी कार्यकर्ताओं ने जोरदार स्वागत किया।
इस अवसर पर उनका फूल-मालाओं और नारों के साथ गर्मजोशी से अभिनंदन किया गया। सांसद ने अपने स्वागत के लिए जिला अध्यक्ष रतन पाल, पूर्व कैबिनेट मंत्री डॉ. राजीव . सहजल, पुरुषोत्तम गुलेरिया, यशपाल ठाकुर सहित पूरी जिला टीम का आभार जताया।
सिकंदर कुमार ने दूसरी बार महामंत्री का दायित्व दिए जाने पर शीर्ष नेतृत्व – जगत प्रकाश नड्डा डॉ. राजीव बिंदल, पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री जयराम ठाकुर, प्रो. प्रेम कुमार धूमल, का विशेष धन्यवाद किया। उन्होंने आश्वासन दिया कि संगठन द्वारा जताए गए भरोसे को वे पूरी निष्ठा के साथ निभाएंगे।
आपदा राहत पर बोलते हुए सांसद ने बताया कि भाजपा सांसदों और पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री जयराम ठाकुर, प्रदेश अध्यक्ष डॉ. बिंदल सहित नेतृत्व ने संसद के भीतर और बाहर प्रदेश की आवाज बुलंद की। उन्होंने कहा कि केंद्र सरकार से प्रदेश को राहत मिलनी शुरू हो गई है।
पहली किस्त के तौर पर 400 करोड़ रुपये जारी हो चुके हैं। उन्होंने स्पष्ट किया कि शेष किस्तें भी जल्द प्रदेश को मिलेंगी, क्योंकि यह राशि केंद्र से आने के बाद प्रदेश स्तर पर तय प्रक्रियाओं से गुजरती है। उन्होंने कहा कि आपदा राहत में केंद्र का सहयोग निरंतर जारी रहेगा और भाजपा सांसद प्रदेश हितों की रक्षा के लिए हर स्तर पर लड़ते रहेंगे।
