वीरवार को हमीरपुर में राष्ट्रपिता महात्मा गांधी और पूर्व प्रधानमंत्री लाल बहादुर शास्त्री की जयंती के अवसर पर कई कार्यक्रम आयोजित किए गए। जिला प्रशासन की ओर से सुबह 8 बजे गांधी चौक पर आयोजित कार्यक्रम में एडीसी अभिषेक गर्ग, नगर निगम आयुक्त राकेश शर्मा, सहायक आयुक्त राजीव ठाकुर, तहसीलदार सुभाष कुमार, नायब तहसीलदार जगदीश ठाकुर, नगर निगम के सहायक अभियंता अश्वनी ठाकुर, जिला भाषा अधिकारी संतोष पटियाल, कांग्रेस के पूर्व जिला अध्यक्ष सुमन भारती सहित अन्य गणमान्य नागरिकों ने महात्मा गांधी की प्रतिमा पर माल्यार्पण कर श्रद्धांजलि अर्पित की।
कार्यक्रम के दौरान दोनों महान विभूतियों के राष्ट्र के प्रति योगदान को याद किया गया और उनके आदर्शों पर चलने का संकल्प लिया गया।
